Membership Information

Membership Form – WREA & MAREA

The membership year for WREA and MAREA is October 1 – September 30. 

WREA (Wisconsin Retired Educators’ Association) is the pension fund watchdog from the RETIREE perspective.  Identifying pension trends and swiftly acting on issues that raise red flags is not all that WREA does.  They also support public education issues, give student scholarships, school grants, and they work with other organizations to provide you with membership benefits that offer discounts or important services on long term care, health care options, travel discounts, and AAA to name only a few.  You can read more about WREA at http://www.wrea.net

MAREA (Marshfield Area Retired Educators’ Association) is a local unit of WREA.  We meet on the third Monday of every month except July at the Country Aire, Stratord, Wi at 10 A.M.   We listen to  a variety of speakers who talks about topics of interest to the members. A healthy lunch is served.  Our meetings also provide time to socialize and to be entertained.  We keep you informed about WREA events and issues.  There are opportunities to volunteer or serve on committees and a student scholarship is being planned.   Once a year we plan a field trip to local areas of interest.  Each month we send an e-mail about the meetings.  Lastly, we maintain an online Blog Page to keep in touch and to inform you of our meetings.

Regular Membership (Any retired teacher, administrator, and school personnel) ………..… $50.00/yr   or   3 years for ………… $135.00

Associate Membership (Spouses of regular members, other annuitants in the Wisconsin Retirement System, current teachers and friends of education) ………$30.00/yr  or  3 years for  ........$75.00

Life Membership (One payment or payment plan – My first $50.00 is enclosed and contact me to set up a monthly or quarterly payment schedule to be completed within 12 months.)  ………………… $625.00
